Arizona Marriage Rally
Romans 1:26-27 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
On Monday May 17, barring a miracle, one state in our United States will begin issuing marriage licenses to homosexuals. This will set off a chain reaction of legal battles to establish recognition of these “marriages” in every other state. Arizona’s DOMA law protecting marriage is under attack even now, and may be struck down by our state Supreme Court or a federal judge. The only thing that will stop the spread of homosexual “marriage” to Arizona and every other state is passage of the Marriage Amendment.

The following is a collection of mainly conservative news and commentary related to the May 17, 2004.
WorldMagBlogThe Alliance Defense Fund couldn't persuade a state court to block gay marriages Monday even with a novel argument saying the Supreme Judicial Court amended the constitution by judicial fiat when it changed the definition of marriage. Strike two could come as the Liberty Council struggles to find an avenue in federal court to block the SJC's decision. At that point, the ambivalent state legislature will likely watch strike three whiz by, leaving its bat on its shoulder unwilling to enter the fray one more time.
More Next Monday, May 17th, our country may be changed forever. We had hoped, worked, and prayed the predictions we have been making for years would never happen, but on Monday barring a miracle same-sex couples will – under court fiat – be “married” in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. But there is still hope and the battle in 49 other states is not over – in fact, it has just begun.
More "Courage, Clarity, and Charity: A Phoenix Declaration" was created by ministers in the Phoenix, Arizona, area in response to those people and groups who are attempting to subvert the Bible's clear teaching on sexual ethics, particularly homosexuality. Such groups assert that the Scriptures do not condemn the homosexual lifestyle but rather lend it support and approval and that homosexuality, whether gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered, is natural and not a sin.
More (CNSNews.com) - While same-sex marriage activists are cheering Monday's arrival in Massachusetts when homosexual couples will be allowed to "marry," a pro-family group is dreading the day, calling it "Destruction of Marriage Day."
The Illinois Family Institute warns of expanding legal and moral confusion ahead as Chicago homosexual activists seek to exploit Massachusetts' court-imposed legalization of same-sex "marriages."
More (AgapePress) - Christian law firms have lost their last-minute effort to block homosexual "marriage" in Massachusetts. An attorney for one of those firms is describing a judge's denial of a request to stop the scheduled legalization of same-sex marriage as a "dark day for America."
On Thursday, a federal judge in Boston denied the request by several pro-family legal groups to block marriage licenses from being issued to homosexual couples starting Monday. In their federal lawsuit, Liberty Counsel, the Catholic Action League, the American Family Association, and the Thomas More Law Center allege that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) violated the U.S. Constitution's guarantee of a republican form of government when it redefined marriage to include same-sex individuals.

Boston, MA - A federal judge in Boston has denied a request by the American Family Association Center for Law & Policy (“CLP”), Liberty Counsel, and other legal groups to stop the scheduled legalization of same-sex marriage in Massachusetts set to begin on May 17, 2004. The legal groups represent eleven Massachusetts representatives and senators, and Robert Largess, Vice-President of the Catholic Action League.
More It's full-steam ahead for homosexual marriage in Massachusetts next week, after the United States Supreme Court refused today to block America's first state-sanctioned same-sex ceremonies from taking place there.
More BOSTON, MA - Today, the United States Supreme Court declined to issue an emergency stay of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court's decision to allow same-sex marriages. The case will now be returned to the First Circuit Court of Appeals for a decision. That Court set the case for an expedited briefing schedule, with Liberty Counsel's Brief due May 21 and the State's Brief due May 28. Oral argument will be set for the week of June 7.
