Bush and Vatican Take Resolute Stands Against Human Cloning

Bush irks allies with call for human cloning ban
WASHINGTON, October 21, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An open letter to John Kerry from over 35 of the brightest and most influential non-clergy Catholic leaders in the United States has been published in major newspapers across the country. The letter calls Kerry to account for his claim to hold the Catholic faith while he continues to support abortion.

Britain, Vatican clash over U.N. cloning proposals
Britain staunchly defended the right to use human embryos for medical research while the Vatican backed a complete ban on human cloning Thursday as U.N. members began two days of debate on the highly contentious issue.


U.N. Split on Human Cloning Ban
- Britain, Japan, South Korea, India and scores of other close U.S. allies sought to head off the Bush administration's campaign to seek a global ban on all forms of human cloning, saying it would undercut scientific efforts to develop cures for cancers, diabetes and a host of other diseases.
