Finding Liberals who Oppose Abortion
Recently Serge on Imago Dei posted an interesting article on liberalism and pro-life beliefs. It seems that one of his liberal friends, who is pro-life, has had difficulty finding an acceptable pro-life candidate. Serge asks, Is the Pro-Life View Consistent with Liberalism?.
Apparently Serge's friend is not alone.
Democrats for Life of America, seeking to change the abortion language in the Democratic Party platform, say the party's dismal performance on Election Day is due in part to the pro-abortion views of candidates like presidential nominee John Kerry.

Interestingly, I live in a riding in Canada where both the Conservative candidate and the Liberal candidate were pro-life. The candidate of the NDP party was the only pro-choice candidate. The Liberals/Conservatives garnered 90% of the vote. Considering how liberal Canadians are I am encouraged to live in a riding that isn't averse to having pro-life politicians represent them.
