Government Control of Private Education
Is it wise to accept government funding for Homeschooling or Private Education? A family in Canada found out the answer to this question.
The reason for this action is embodied in the statement, "If a district receives full funding for a student, the student is not being home-schooled." The implication being that if a student is funded by the government in some manner, the government retains control over the educational process - the parents become "ministers" of the state.
Certainly vigilance is necessary when considering educational funding sources.
