Interesting Days of Creation Remarks
On the sixth day of Creation, did God create a boy who had to grow into manhood, or did he create a fully developed man who had the potential of not-aging (actually being eternal) if he obeyed God? It would appear from Genesis 5 that Adam was a fully developed man whose chronological age and aging began at the Fall until his death (almost a millenium later). Since God had the ability of creating a fully developed man, why do we hesitate to believe that He could create everything else in a fully developed way instantaneously (even in a 24 hour day)!
At what point do the non-literal men measure Adam's age? If it is taken back to his creation on day six then day six has to be a literal day for us to understand the text's reference to Adam's long life with specific years mentioned. Any gaps following Adam's chronology is irrelevant to the issue. Adam was the first man and counting these years (and days) back leads us to day six as a literal day--the birth of Adam.
