Kerry's Metals
ABC News: “Contradicting his statements as a candidate for president, Sen. John Kerry claimed in a 1971 television interview that he threw away as many as nine of his combat medals to protest the war in Vietnam.”
Will this matter to the American public who twice voted in Bill Clinton despite his repeated and documented lies about Jennifer Flowers?

Sen. John Kerry fought for his country and earned those medals. He has the right to do whatever he wants to with them. Bush never saw a battlefield and the closest he ever came was probably getting thrown out of an officers club for getting too drunk (and for not being an officer). If we really want to talk about lies we should just realize that we all lie because it is human nature. The candidates all want to be liked and don't want to look bad. Bill Clinton told lies. George W. Bush told lies and is still telling lies. What makes us think that a politician isn't going to lie? They will all tell some kind of lie at some point so it doesn't matter if John Kerry says he threw away less medals then he actually did.
Who's lies are worse and what type of information they are hiding is really what's important. Bush won't answer questions about his sordid past with drugs and drinking. He won't answer questions about his service in the National Guard. He was a really terrible person in the 70's and 80's and most Americans wouldn't have let their daughters even date the man. After many failed attempts to become a hard working adult, his daddy bought him the Texas Rangers. As the owner of the Rangers all of Texas knew George W. He later lucked into the Governorship while having no leadership or governing experience. After only one full term and a partial term as the Governor of Texas we gave him full control over our country. Talk about not having much of a resume. The only reason George has gotten away with scamming the country is because he decided to give himself to God. The thing is that most drug addicts and drunks eventually give themselves to God as a replacement for their addictions but we don't give them the world. I see ex-drug users in the city all the time handing out pamphlets about being saved but I would never really trust them because of their past addictions. People always remember where you have been but for some reason we have forgotten where George W. Bush has been. When John Kerry was taking a bullet, George W. was taking a snort.

Any misrepresentation of the truth by any president or political candidate is unacceptable. I find it unreasonable to justify John Kerry on the basis of George Bush's alleged and imagined deficiencies. Of course your reply contains unproven assertions or beliefs which you hold about President Bush, perhaps because you disagree with his politics. Were you as critical of other presidents whose politics were closer to your own beliefs?
Whose "lies are worse" is a poor method to pick a candidate because it lacks a standard for good vs bad or right vs wrong and inevitably leads to the selection of a despot. Unfortunately, John Kerry was caught in an obvious lie and has refused to admit it - this compounds his prior error. He doesn't have the right to lie. Your post actually proves my point that many in the American public does not seem to care.
You criticize George W. as having "given himself to God." Since God is the creator of the universe and the author of truth this decision is unarguably the right one. I agree with you that all men do lie - they all sin. Unfortunately the consequences of sin is eternal death. Despite your and my inability to free ourselves from this certain demise, Jesus came and bore the penalty for our sin by dying on the cross. All who believe in Him - give themselves to Him - can be certain of eternal life. This decision, to give yourself to in Him, is most important – our political disagreements are of no consequence in comparison.
Thanks for your message. We are on opposite ends of the political spectrum. Of one thing I do hope to persuade you and that is that the gift of eternal life and peace with God is the most magnificent gift of all.
