Legalized Persecution in Liberated Afghanistan
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage” (Gal. 5:1).
Afghans are not allowed to leave Islam:
An Afghan man who recently admitted he converted to Christianity faces the death penalty under the country's strict Islamic legal system. The trial is a critical test of Afghanistan's new constitution and democratic government. The article is an example of one problem faced when freeing a society via politial/military action whose belief system embraces tyranny. They people are given the key to liberty but never use it. Ironically, Abdul Rahman's conversion to Christianity is the very change the will bring lasting freedom to the land of Afghanistan. The case is attracting widespread attention in Afghanistan, where local media are closely monitoring the landmark proceedings.
Abdul Rahman, 40, was arrested last month, accused of converting to Christianity.
