March For Abortion Attracts Lower Numbers Than Expected

Pro-abortion advocates rallied in Washington last weekend amid public opinion that is shifting against their cause. While organizers of the rally claimed a national record of 1,000,000 protestors, others were significantly less optimistic. In particular, Lifenews.com reports that the crowd was dismally lower than expectations (see below).

Perception is important to the march organizers because this is the substance of their argument. Reality is: taking the life of an un-born child is is murder - the public is understanding this fact. When the child is "wanted", this murder is illegal. However, when the child is inconvenient or not wanted, the issue is presented by pro-abortion advocates differently, as a matter of choice, in which the mother is now the victim of pregnancy and has the "right" to take the life of her child. This relativistic stance on the value of human life is diabolically hidden beneath an exaggerated base of support and a white-washed image of murder.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Though organizers expected as many as one million people in Washington today to march in support of abortion, police estimated that only a quarter of that number actually attended the pro-abortion rally. While media outlets varied in their description of the numbers, some estimated that only "tens of thousands" participated. There are no official estimates of the crowd size as the National Park Service no longer tallies official crowd counts. However, CNN reported that Washington D.C. police estimated that only 250,000 people participated in the pro-abortion march. "On April 25th, one million pro-choice supporters will shape the future of our country," Planned Parenthood wrote in an email alert to supporters in December. The New York Times ran a story saying, "tens of thousands of protesters rallied on the National Mall today." But that didn't stop march organizers from claiming more people attended. In a press release, their headline blared the claim that some "1,150,000 March[ed] on Washington, D.C."
