Pro-Kerry or Anti-Bush?

Are you voting for Senator John Kerry because you like his stance on the issues or are you voting for John Kerry because you hate President George W. Bush? [more, hat tip: Jeff Quinton]

Overwhelmingly I have found the answer this question to be latter.

Update:

An interesting Frontpage Symposium on the polarization of America if found here. Daniel J. Flynn, the author of Why the Left Hates America, suggests,

For 70 or so years, the hard Left looked to the Soviet Union for their opinions. Their City Upon a Hill is gone. But they still have their Sodom and Gomorrah. The Left now defines itself by positioning itself opposite American policy--even when American policy promotes their stated aims of nation building and human rights.
