Religion Matters in Politics - Bush vs Kerry
Decisions made by the President of the United States are based on what he believes to be right and wrong, which in turn flows from his religion (his beliefs about himself, the world and God). President Bush is comfortable speaking about his faith and his actions indicate that he is consistent, sincere and steadfast. Although he is not the conservative that many Christians desire, his openness and faith-based initiates have made his presidency symbolic of the Christian heritage of our culture and society and he has become a lightening rod for anti-Christian sentiment.
Sen. John Kerry, on the other hand, enigmatically packages himself in the guise of Christianity but maintains that his faith (Catholicism), his core belief system, cannot be used in the political arena (except when it is useful to motivate a particular position). He has not been open or consistent about how he arrives at decisions and often takes a position contrary to what he says he believes. Nevertheless, voting records reveal a candidate’s morals and worldview because politicians vote for what they believe to be right and true. Kerry’s voting record shows that he is radically pro-abortion, socialistic, pluralistic and globalistic. In fact, on a scale that ranges from 0 to 100, Sen. Kerry compiled a composite liberal score for 2003 of 96.5, the highest in the Senate. His "works" contradict his recent characterization of himself as against abortion, a fiscal conservative and a strong defender of national sovereignty.
Character does count and the core beliefs of a candidate do matter. One candidate has been truthful about his Christian beliefs while the other has not.

Comments
As President Putin said yesterday:
"International terrorism has as its goal to prevent the election of President Bush to a second term . . . . If they achieve that goal, then that will give international terrorism a new impulse and extra power."
This is the elephant in the room that the President’s campaign cannot mention: a vote for Kerry is a vote to hand the terrorists a mighty public relations and recruiting victory.
No matter what Kerry would do in the war on terror, or what he says he would do, it is beyond dispute that he is seen in the world as the “anti-war” candidate. This, of course, results from Kerry’s “wrong war” rhetoric, among many other comments. Thus, the terrorists and the rest of the world see this election as a referendum on America’s resolve, and a reflection on the success or failure of the terror campaign of bombings and beheadings.
Because the Bush campaign cannot make this point clearly, and because the media won’t, we must. Please convince your neighbors and friends that we cannot hand the terrorists a victory by electing Kerry. Kerry did not have to run on an anti-war platform, but he did. That position has dire consequences in the world.
