Schiavo Neurologist is a Christian
Yesterday I published a post that quoted an affidavit by Dr. Cheshire, a neurologist who met with Terri and examined her medical record. Cheshire essentially concludes the Terri is not in a state of persistent vegetation and should not be killed via starvation.
What I didn't realize is that his credentials are suspect. He's a Christian. The New York Times writes [HT: WorldMagBlog]:
Other doctors, however, were skeptical of Cheshire's assertions. Though he was a respected doctor at a well-known institution, they said he was not a dispassionate evaluator. "He generally has a reasonably thoughtful, conservative Christian right-to-life perspective," said David Magnus, co-director of the Stanford University Center of Biomedical Ethics. "He definitely is not a neutral party with respect to these culture wars. He has turf to defend."On top of this, he probably voted for Bush.

Oh yes, you can't actually CARE whether someone lives or dies! *gasps*

Golly gosh, are the only doctors who comment supposed to be non-Christian? This is an outrageous statement.
