Scientists Grow New Brain Cells
As a first step toward the treatment of degenerative brain diseases such as MS, Alzheimers and Parkinson’s, a Swedish team has succeeded in growing brain cells from stem cells taken from adults. [more].
Adult stem cell research continues to show remarkable promise and concrete applications. However, the main reason to support this type of investigation is that, unlike embryonic stem cell research, it does not require the destruction of a human life.
