Slaves Freed in Sudan
Recently I commented on the incredible decision to include the Khartoum government of Sudan in the United Nation's Human Rights watch-dog committee. Here is a further article about slavery in Sudan that is santioned by the Khartoum government.
According to Christian Solidarity International, the operation to free the 56 boys was a joint effort of CSI and the Arab-Dinka Peace Committee. The boys had been abducted during jihad slave raids sanctioned by the Khartoum government that targeted non-Muslim communities in northern Bahr El Ghazal.
A listing of 10,000 slaves in Sudan has previously been report although some still deny the reality of slavery. I'm not sure what "human rights" Sudan will help the United Nations protect ...
