Star Wars Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith Grosses $50 Million
The final chapter of the George Lucas' Star Wars epic just set a record for the biggest one-day box office ticket sales.
CNN reports that "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" took in a whopping $50 million in its first 24 hours in North American theaters, shattering the previous single-day record of $44.8 million set by "Shrek 2" on its fourth day in theaters a year ago.
At the same time, Malaysian police say they have seized half a million pirated films on DVD, the biggest find this year.
The Information Ministry says the discs appear to have been bound for North America and Europe.
Among the haul were thousands of copies of the latest Star Wars film, Revenge of the Sith - which has only just opened in cinemas.
