Switched to Movabletype 3.0
Today I upgraded to Movabletype 3.0 . . . primarily out of loyalty to the Six Apart for their contribution to the blogging community, the promised solution to comment spam and future expectations of plug-in advancements. On the positive side I found useful tools for uploading images (which other software packages have), an improved interface, great plug-in support and a significantly upgraded comment management system. Unfortunately, the upgrade was not problem free and I encountered a bug in the comment preview module, which is apparently known, and have found a number of "quirks" in the new comment system related to the use of both pop-up windows and in-line comments on archive pages. Eith my purchase came support and I received responses to two inquiries within 24-hours.
Having switched I plan to evaluate Wordpress and other alternatives at the same time, noting that "Every purchase of a license for Movable Type is backed by a full 30 day money-back guarantee."
