Top Ten Bush Flip-Flops by CBS

I was alerted to the most recent DNC (er... I mean CBS) report about Bush titled Bush's Top Ten Flip-Flops. Chief Political Writer David Paul Kuhn criticizes Bush on a number of issues - some are weak and driven by semantics (e.g., Winning the War on Terror) while others reveal a change in the president's perspective and position. For example, Bush changed his position on a marriage amendment to the constitution.

"Citing recent decisions by "activist judges" in states like Massachusetts, Mr. Bush defended his reversal.

Whether or not one agrees with the president on this issue, there is a profound difference between a thoughtful change in position (Bush) and a flip-flop for the purpose of political expediency (Kerry). There is a difference between being wrong and admitting it (Bush) and waffling about a myriad of positions while claiming to have only one (Kerry). Bush never voted for something before voting against it and his positions have not changed on a daily basis. CBS has again done itself a disservice by representing Bush as "flip-flopping."

Later today, the network is going to publish John Kerry's top ten "flip-flops", a task that is probably insurmountable considering the large quantity of available material.

Update (9/29):

CBS has published Kerry's Top Ten Flip-Flops. Comments?

Update (9/30):
JustOneMinute has more.
