Uganda's Full Ceasefire Deal Indefinitely Postponed

I had hoped that more good news, similar to what is happening in Sudan, would be reported about Uganda. Instead:

KITGUM, Uganda (AFP) - Last-minute hitches prevented the planned signing of a ceasefire agreement between Uganda's government and Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels to end 18 years of war in northern Uganda.
Talks continue between the two sides after holding their very first face-to-face meeting only on Wednesday to discuss the mutually-agreed ceasefire. Apparently the LRA is looking for additional "clarification". There still is reason to hope for peace in Uganda in the near future.

See War on Terror Motivates Peace in Sudan for more information.

Update (1/2/2005):

VOA - Fighting has resumed in Uganda after the collapse of a cease-fire agreement designed to open the way to formal peace talks.

The Ugandan military says rebels from the Lord's Resistance Army ambushed an army vehicle early Saturday, near the northern town of Gulu.
